1. Agreement and operator
By using Chatty Panda, you agree to these Terms of Use. The service is developed and operated by Haikou Weiyao Technology Co., Ltd. (海口微曜科技有限公司). If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What the service provides
Chatty Panda provides Mandarin learning activities, including AI conversations, speech playback, pronunciation assessment, learning notes, and progress features. The service is an educational aid, not a certified language examination, translator, or professional advisory service.
3. AI-generated content
AI responses, transcripts, translations, pronunciation results, and learning suggestions can be incomplete or inaccurate. Use reasonable judgment and do not rely on Chatty Panda for emergencies, legal matters, medical decisions, or other high-stakes situations.
4. Recordings and data use
When you start a voice activity, you consent to Chatty Panda recording, storing, and processing your voice, transcripts, pronunciation results, and related data. You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to access, reproduce, store, process, modify, and create derivative materials from that data as reasonably needed to operate, maintain, develop, train, and improve Chatty Panda and related speech or learning technologies.
Product-improvement use is enabled by default. We may create datasets from which account and installation identifiers and unrelated metadata have been removed, and in which personal identifiers spoken in recordings are redacted where reasonably possible. Once reasonably de-identified, we may use, retain, license, transfer, disclose, or otherwise commercialize that data with service providers, research collaborators, and commercial partners for research, analytics, model development, product development, commercial collaboration, and other lawful business purposes.
You are responsible for complying with applicable recording laws and obtaining any consent required before recording another person's voice. You may object to future product-improvement use by contacting support@chattypanda.app.
5. Your responsibilities
You agree not to misuse the service. In particular, you must not:
- Use the service unlawfully or to harm, threaten, or impersonate another person
- Attempt to bypass subscriptions, usage controls, security, or access restrictions
- Interfere with the service or use automated means that place unreasonable load on it
- Reverse engineer or redistribute protected parts of the app except where law permits
- Submit content that you do not have the right to use
6. Subscriptions and billing
Paid subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Prices, billing periods, trial or promotional terms, and renewal details are shown before purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled according to Apple's rules. You can manage or cancel them in your Apple account settings. Refunds are handled under Apple's applicable policies.
7. Intellectual property
Chatty Panda, its visual design, software, learning content, and related materials belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a limited, personal, non-transferable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of the service or its content.
8. Availability and changes
We may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the service. AI and speech providers may also be temporarily unavailable. We aim to operate the service reliably but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free access.
9. Disclaimer and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, our providers, or legal compliance. You may stop using the service at any time; ending use does not automatically cancel an App Store subscription.
